Directions
- In a large bowl, sift together cake flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.
- Mix well With a pastry blender, cut in shortening until the mixture is as fine as cornmeal.
- Put in a large airtight container.
- Label as Basic Cake Mix and store in a cool dry place.
- Use with 10 to 12 weeks.
- Makes about 16 cups of mix.
