Directions
- Sift flour, measure, sift with salt, sugar, and baking-powder.
- Cut in shortening and 1 tablespoon butter with 2 spatulas.
- Add milk.
- Mix lightly.
- Turn onto lightly floured board.
- Knead gently.
- Pat in sheet 1/4 inch thick.
- Cut with floured cutter.
- Spread 1/2 the biscuits with butter.
- Place an unbuttered biscuit over a buttered biscuit.
- Place on baking sheet.
- Bake in hot oven (450 F) 15 minutes.
- Cool.
- Place crushed sweetened berries between two biscuits.
- Cover liberally with berries.
- Serve with or without whipped cream. 6 servings.
