Ingredients

Sugar

Butter

Milk

Directions

  1. Sift flour, measure, sift with salt, sugar, and baking-powder.
  2. Cut in shortening and 1 tablespoon butter with 2 spatulas.
  3. Add milk.
  4. Mix lightly.
  5. Turn onto lightly floured board.
  6. Knead gently.
  7. Pat in sheet 1/4 inch thick.
  8. Cut with floured cutter.
  9. Spread 1/2 the biscuits with butter.
  10. Place an unbuttered biscuit over a buttered biscuit.
  11. Place on baking sheet.
  12. Bake in hot oven (450 F) 15 minutes.
  13. Cool.
  14. Place crushed sweetened berries between two biscuits.
  15. Cover liberally with berries.
  16. Serve with or without whipped cream. 6 servings.
